Program goal:
To provide a jazz immersion experience for jazz students
(high school and adult) and music teachers with master
jazz clinicians in jazz performance techniques, theory,
improvisation, listening and combo playing.
The one to three-day workshops, led
by nationally acclaimed clinicians, center on
instrumental or vocal master classes stressing technique
and improvisation. Classes in jazz theory, listening and
combo playing are also part of the curriculum. Students
and the public have the opportunity to hear the faculty
perform in jazz concerts. Also included are
opportunities for participating students to perform in
public. Music teachers may register on a specific
instrument, or choose the Educator's Rotation, allowing
them to visit all the instrumental master classes, all
levels of theory and the combo rehearsals. |
